A Lake County detective arrests an Orlando man on drug-trafficking charges after getting a tip from an UPS official in Louisville, Kentucky, who had found a package holding 14 pounds of marijuana. The package of pot was on its way to a Groveland residence and had an address to a fake recipient. The real recipient was Omar Brown living in Orlando who was wanted by police for violating probation on marijuana charges. Police delivered the 14 pounds of pot to that address and a minute later, stopped a vehicle leaving the home.
The driver of the car did cooperate with police and arranged to meet in a parking lot with Brown to give over the package. After Brown drove around the lot for two hours before cancelling, police stopped him near a root-beer stand.
The package of pot had an estimated value of $14,000.

I honestly think that it is a major unfortunate even that you've recorded in this blog. Why our tax dollars are being wasted on putting innocent pot heads in jail is too far beyond my comprehension. I can think of no logical reason to arrest this man, or for him to be punished for purchasing marijuana, no matter HOW large the package. These drug laws that are supposedly protecting us are turning into a socially oppressive government. It's ridiculous to claim that smoking pot is "wrong."
I actually think that this article is kind of funny. I think that it is amazing how so many people think that they can get away with things like this. When people try and tons of marijuana or cocaine on planes or trains it amazes me that they think that they can get away with it knowing how closely security examines baggage nowadays. Even when they try and hide it their are still dogs and many other ways to find drugs that I personally wouldn't even try.
